Street Based ASB, Cycle Safety Engagement and Enforcement Partnership Deployment Leicester Square, Westend & Chinatown & Covent Garden

On the 10/08/2026 St James SNT along with Westminster City Council and Partners conducted a multi-agency street-based ASB deployment covering Leicester Square, Westend & Chinatown & Covent Garden. 

The deployment focused on street-based anti-social behaviour and the enforcement of our ASB, Controlled Drinking and Pedicab Public Space Protection Orders in these locations.

Enforcement

• 1 immigration arrest

• 2 Community Protection Warnings issued for begging

• 1 Fixed Penalty Notice issued for breach of the Pedicab Public Space Protection Order

• 2 Fixed Penalty Notices issued for dangerously parked bikes

• 1 portable stereo, 1 microphone, and 8 cones seized from unlicensed street performers; these will be processed for prosecution through the courts

• 8 immigration checks conducted

Engagement

• 27 verbal warnings issued to individuals cycling on the highway

• 2 welfare checks completed, with referrals made to support services

• 16 business engagements, with crime prevention advice provided

• 4 youth engagements, with crime prevention advice provided

Reports

• 1 safeguarding report submitted

• 1 intelligence report submitted regarding children storming a cinema

• 1 male reported missing was found safe and well

Weapon Sweep

• 1 drugs sweep/search conducted – negative result.
